Gloss Mountain is south of the Cimarron River and just off US-412 near Fairview, Oklahoma. If you want to see what it looks like in the summer, look here.
Gloss Mountain State Park is more of a roadside stop than a proper state park. But, they've done a good job putting in steps that will get you to the top.
The mineral Selenite is common in the area, and if the sun is just right, and if you are in just the right spot, the mountain can sparkle.
The "stairs" require more arm strength than is usual. Grab the rail on your right, and pull yourself up to the top.
At the top, looking back down to the parking area. That's US-412 running left to right.
It's flat on top and easy to walk to the edge to see the views in all directions.
Looking north towards the Cimarron River.
